Cortney studied at the University of California, Irvine and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from UCI in 2003. Cortney went on to complete post-bacchelaureate work at California State University, Long Beach in communication sciences and disorders. She earned a masters degree in communication disorders at Northwestern University in 2008. She is a credentialed I/ECMH consultant through the Illinois Association of Infant Mental Health.
Cortney consults on cases in different locations via telehealth and occasional travel and enjoys problem solving with families, clinicians, and educators alike.
